Originally founded in a humble wooden hut, this heritage institution rose from the Great Flood of 1926 with a dignified colonial-style building and a charming Malay Hostel. Officially opened by Sir Hugh Clifford, the school earned a reputation for academic excellence and became the first in the state to offer the School Certificate exam.
